The fourth Invictus Games will be held in Sydney in 2018 and Australian Hearing will help spread the message of the healing power sport plays in the road to recovery for our wounded, injured and ill defence personnel and veterans.
The Invictus Games are an international adaptive sporting event which aims to inspire recovery and generate a wider understanding of and respect for those who serve their country.
Additionally, they celebrate the crucial role played by family and friends in the recovery process.
Australian Hearing has 70 year connection with service men and women that goes back to the last century at the end of the WWII.
Australian Hearing was formed in 1947 to help returning servicemen who were affected with hearing loss on the battlefield. Because of this legacy, Australian Hearing felt it imperative that it help raise awareness of the Games.
Bill Davidson, Managing Director, Australian Hearing, said, “We continue our unwavering support to the thousands of Australian service men and women and their families who have joined with our allies to defend and protect Australia. We respect and honour their contribution.
“Australian Hearing provides more than 500 locations Australia-wide for the community to access hearing services and is perfectly placed to help communicate the key messages about health, rehabilitation and wellbeing to the wider Australian community.”
Australian Hearing will promote the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 messages across Australia at a community level, encouraging staff, Australian Hearing customers and their local communities to engage in supporting Invictus Games Sydney 2018.
“We are grateful to have Australian Hearing with us on our journey to Invictus Games Sydney 2018, presented by Jaguar Land Rover. Together, our mission is to inspire the Australian community to embrace our wounded, injured and ill, their families and friends, and create a positive long term impact as we celebrate their unconquerable spirit,” said Patrick Kidd OBE, CEO of Invictus Games Sydney 2018.
